Summary[]
At Mao's apartment, Alas cries over the fact that Mao and Emi weren't her parents, despite believing otherwise. Alas then hugs Emi for consolement, which draws attention to her from everyone there, and she succumbs to Alas' whim and consoles her.
Soon, Alas falls asleep on Emi's lap and the group debate why Alas sees Mao and Emi as her parents and who could have sent her through The Gate. No conclusion was reached on those subjects; however, it was ultimately decided that Mao's apartment would take care of her, despite Shiro's concerns about financial stability.
One day, during Chi's archery club, she talks about her advances toward Mao with a fellow club member and how Mao sees her as nothing more than a co-worker. Her friend suggests they go to MgRonald's to plan a love strategy, but Chi declines, noting she has prior commitments.
After school, Chi shops at a local drug store, picked up some supplies, and delivers them to Mao's apartment. There, an emaciated Shiro greets her. Apparently, Alas cried throughout the night, wanting to know where her mama was and that she ate udon without complaining. Happy to hear that, Chi shows Shiro the various supplies he had gotten for Alas. An elated Shiro thanks Chi for her act, noting he'd put in a good word for her to become a high-ranking position when Mao conquers the land. Though Chi declines the offer and tries to voice her hope for a reward, she becomes far too flustered to do so.
Knocking at the door, Suzuno delivers Shiro the food and drink that he asked for. Hanzo appears from the closet and asks if it's time to eat, but Shiro cuts him off. Suzuno then comments about the noise from the other night. Alas then awakens and asks for her papa, who is nowhere in sight, and starts to cry.
Elsewhere, Rika notices that Emi seems rather tense and asks her whether or not something has gone wrong. Emi then explains her situation involving Alas while also accidentally adding unnecessary details about how the child sees her and Mao as her parents.
Switching back to the apartment, Chi changed Alas' diaper, which impressed Shiro. Chi then introduces herself and Suzuno to Alas as her big sisters, and the proclamation flusters Suzuno.
Late that afternoon, Emi further explains Alas' relationship with Mao and how Alas somehow sees her as her mother. In light of this, Rika hands Emi some tickets to an amusement park their company was partners with and suggests they all visit it together.
Meanwhile, Suzuno and Chi, while carrying Alas visit Mao at work, much to his dismay. This creates a scene with Mayumi, who demands that she speak with the two in the backroom. Sarue, who had planned to try once again and court Mayumi, sees her holding onto Alas and believes that she has already had a child with someone else. In the backroom, Mayumi lectures the two about how their relationship with Alas could be misinterpreted by society. However, she allows Mao to get off early so he can take care of Alas, and he asks that Chi take care of Alas a while longer. Hearing this makes Chi cry tears of joy, which surprises Mao, and Chi vows to continue to help Mao with taking care of Chi. Mayumi then interjects back into the scene, offering them tickets to the same amusement park Rika suggested Emi go to with Alas.
At Mao's apartment, who will go to the amusement park with Alas is discussed, and it's ultimately decided that Mao and Emi will go there with Alas. Emi would later lament over this in her apartment and gets a call from Emerada. Flusteredly, Emi informs Emerada that everything on her side is fine and that they don't have to worry about Sarue stealing her sword for a while. However, Emi mentions to Emerada about Alas, a girl born from an apple, though Emerada knows nothing about her and promises to look into it.
Returning to Mao's apartment, Mao argues with Shiro over his going to the amusement park with Alas and Emi with the safety implications it imposes. Suzuno then suggests that if Shiro is so concerned about the situation, he should follow the two undercover.
As time passes on, everyone in Mao's apartment acclimates to their new life with Alas.
On the day of the amusement park, Shiro tails Mao and Alas as they head to the amusement park. He's called out by Chi, who had been informed of the situation by Suzuno, and offers her help. It's then that the two notice Emi who had apparently, "pulled all the stops", and by that, she put a lot of effort into her appearance for that day. Rika then appears before the two and explains that she couldn't resist observing how her day with Mao and Alas would go.
Meanwhile, by a withered-up tree in Ente Isla, a robed man accompanied by some soldiers enter through The Gate. On Earth, Hanzo senses that a large Gate has opened somewhere.
