Hataraku Maō-sama! began as alight novel series written by Satoshi Wagahara, with illustrations by the artist Oniku. Wagahara originally entered the first novel in the series with the titleMaōjō wa Rokujō Hitoma!(魔王城は六畳一間! [1] intoASCII Media Works17thDengeki Novel Prize in 2010, where the novel won the Silver Prize.[wikipedia:The_Devil_Is_a_Part-Timer!#cite_note-1|1] The first novel was published by ASCII Media Works on February 10, 2011 under theirDengeki Bunko imprint, and twelve volumes have been released as of February 2015, [wikipedia:The_Devil_Is_a_Part-Timer!#cite_note-latest_ln-2|2as] well as a Volume. [wikipedia:Yen_Press|Yen Press] has announced that they have licensed the light novels in English.3 The first volume is scheduled to be released in April 21, 2015. The second volume will be released on August 18, 2015.4
