Light novels[]
Hataraku Maō-sama! began as a light novel series written by Satoshi Wagahara, with illustrations by the artist Oniku. Wagahara originally entered the first novel in the series, originally titled Maōjō wa Rokujō Hitoma! (魔王城は六畳一間!), into ASCII Media Works 17th Dengeki Novel Prize in 2010 and the novel won the Silver Prize.[1] The first novel was published by ASCII Media Works on February 10, 2011 under their Dengeki Bunko imprint, and twenty-one novels have been released as of August 2020, as well as two Volume backstories.

Manga[]
A manga adaptation, illustrated by Akio Hīragi, started serialization in the February 2012 issue of ASCII Media Works' shōnen manga magazine Dengeki Daioh. The first tankōbon volume was published on June 27, 2012,[4] and twenty-one volumes have been released as of May 26th, 2023.[5]
A spin-off manga series, illustrated by Kurone Mishima and titled Hataraku Maō-sama! High School! (はたらく魔王さま!ハイスクール! Hataraku Maō-sama! Hai Sukūru!), began serialization in the July 2012 issue of the Dengeki Maoh magazine.[6] As of April 27th, 2015 five tankōbon volumes have been released.[6]

Anime[]
An anime television series adaptation of Hataraku Maō-sama!, produced by White Fox and directed by Naoto Hosoda[7], aired between April 4 and June 27, 2013. The anime had Masahiro Yokotani as the script supervisor and Atsushi Ikariya has adapted Oniku's characters designs.[8]Funimation has licensed the show for streaming under the title The Devil Is a Part-Timer! [9] The opening theme is "Zero!!" by Minami Kuribayashi. There are two ending themes, "Tsuki Hana" (月花, lit. "Moon Flower") and "Star Chart" (スターチャート Sutā Chāto) both by Nano Ripe.
